16-Foot Coke Bottle Moves to Hagerstown Print E-mail

The Mid-Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company is moving its 40-year-old 16-foot-tall Coke bottle from its original home at the Frederick, Maryland plant to Hagerstown, Maryland.  The giant Coca-Cola bottle has been an icon on North Main Street since the 1960s.  After the closing of the Frederick plant last year with some of the employees transferred to Hagerstown, the iconic bottle is also moving to its new home.  Pending permits from the city and engineering analysis of the plant roof, the bottle will be stored for the time being.

Coca-Cola Great Britain is changing the Coca-Cola Zero brand to Zero Zero 7 as part of a multimillion-pound global tie-up with the latest release of James Bond movie - Quantum of Solace.  Limited-edition bottles featuring Zero Zero 7 and the the movie will be available in the United Kingdom in October 2008.  World premiere of the 22nd Bond film Quantum of Solace is scheduled to take place October 31, 2008 in London.

Former Coke CMO Chuck Fruit Dies at Age 61 Print E-mail

Charles B. "Chuck" Fruit, the former chief marketing officer at The Coca-Cola Company, has died of a heart attack after a morning swim. Chuck was most recently a senior advisor with The Coca-Cola Company after his role as CMO at Coca-Cola until 2005. He joined The Coca-Cola Company in 1991 as head of global media services.
