Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) opens the new sales and distribution center in Topeka, Kansas with ribbon cutting ceremony today. The new 45,000 square foot facility at Forbes Field employees 70 employees. The facility address is 1717 S. Kansas Avenue, Topeka, KS 66612.

Coca-Cola Big Ben Kicks Off Recycle Week Print E-mail

A 20-foot-high sculpture of Big Ben made from Coca-Cola cans by Sculptor Robert Bradford was ununveiled in London's South Bank today to kick off Recycle Week. The non-profit WRAP launched Recycle Week to raise awareness for recycling. A replica of the Angel of the North sculpture, made out of 10,000 miniature Coke cans, also went on display in Gateshead. Two additional scultpures: Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Birmingham Bull statue are to be unveiled later Monday.

Tokyo High Court Says Yes to the Contour Bottle Print E-mail

The Coca-Cola (Japan) Company, Ltd. said today that the Tokyo High Court has ruled on May 29, 2008 in favor of The Coca-Cola Company for the registration of the contour bottle design. The Coca-Cola Company has attempted to register the design of the contour bottle without lettering since 2003 but was denied by the Japan Patent Office. The contour bottle design was granted a patent by the US Patent & Trademark Office in 1960.

Coca-Cola Japan Celebrates 50 Print E-mail

The Coca-Cola Company celebrates its 50th anniversary in Japan this month. After 50 years in Japan, Coca-Cola has developed and marketed over 60 brands and 200 beverage products. Today, Coca-Cola works with 12 local bottling partners in Japan and has announced today its purchase of 34 percent stake in the Tokyo Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Ltd. To mark the 50th anniversary celebration, the Coca-Cola Foundation in Atlanta will also contribute 1 billion Yen (US$8.6 million) to help fund and expand community efforts in Japan over the next five years. This will support the various local education and environment programs already established by the Coca-Cola system in Japan.
