Andy Warhol’s painting titled "Coca-Cola [4][Large Coca-Cola]" sold for US$35.4 million at Sotheby’s auction in New York City Tuesday night.   Warhol's 1961-62 Coke painting was sold by Elizabeth Richebourg Rea, who acquired the painting for US$143,000 at Christie’s in 1983.  Warhol modeled the Coke bottle he found in Pittsburgh’s Byzantine Catholic World newspaper for the Quaker State Coca-Cola Bottling Co.  Warhol produced four paintings of Coke bottles including one in the artist's hometown museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
