Local artist Lynn Dodson has been commissioned by the Columbiana Beautification Board to restore a painted Coca-Cola sign on the corner of Main and College streets in Columbiana, Alabama. Using photos from the 1950s-1960s as reference, Dodson has determined that the sign motto was Pause ... Refresh Yourself but the second part of the slogan was missing from all her grainy black-and-white photos. A local resident has indicated that the original painted Coke sign has been on the side of the building since 1947. The restored sign is scheduled to be unveiled on June 20, 2008 during Music on Main.
