Share a Diet Coke with Taylor Swift Print E-mail

In October 2013, The Coca-Cola Company released a limited edition Taylor Swift Diet Coke can in 6-packs.  Both the tall slim (or sleek) 12oz cans and their 6-can collector edition cartons feature the singer's autograph and her quote: "if you're ever lucky enough to be different, don't ever change." Earlier in the year, the pop star became the Diet Coke brand ambassador. In August 2009, Taylor Swift donned a red dress in a Coca-Cola photo shoot enjoying a glass bottle of Coke with a straw in Notting Hill, London, England.  Fast forward to October 2014, Taylor transformed into a (kitty fantasy) cat lady in a television commercial with her drinking Diet Coke straight from a glass bottle.  The 30-second Diet Coke commercial ended with the tagline: Diet Coke Get a Taste and a plug for her new album 1989.

If you got a crush on Taylor Swift, then you should get this can for your collection.  Although on the store shelves for just a few months in 2013, there are still plenty of Taylor Swift signature cans and cardboard boxes on eBay and Amazon a year later.

Coca-Cola Harlequin aka Small Diamond Can Print E-mail

In 1966, Coca-Cola introduced a new Harlequin pattern on the Coke cans replacing the earlier large diamond design with small diamonds.  The early harlequin cans were steel cans with a flat top or a pull tab.  In 1967, all aluminum small diamond cans made their debut.  Harlequin cans were in production for a total of 4 years until 1970 when the dynamic ribbon device aka wave was introduced.

Diamond cans are desirable but ones in good condition are hard to come by.  Unless you have a serious crush on diamonds, be patient and picky until you find a true gem.  Pictured is a crushed small Coke Diamond can with dents and scratches offered on eBay on October 2, 2014 by BustersJewel with a starting bid of $11.99 and no bids were submitted when the auction closed on October 5, 2014.

1985 Challenger Space Shuttle Coca-Cola Space Can Print E-mail

A favorite among can collectors has been the Coca-Cola Space Can from 1985. The Coca-Cola Company engineered Coke cans that can be consumed by astronauts in zero gravity. These specially designed cans were sent into space aboard NASA Space Shuttle Challenger from July 29 to August 6, 1985.  Reproductions of these cans accompanied by commemorative display plaques were produced and given to company and bottler executives.

Over the years these iconic cans have made their way into collectors' hands and it is one of the most sought after prizes.

Of all the reproductions I have seen to date, this is the only example that I have seen with multiple dents.  Despite the atrocious condition, this crushed Space Can has been offered for sale on eBay.  The can is being offered by NevermindGallery with a starting bid of $1999.95 on September 30, 2014.  After 3 days, on October 3, one bid was received.  The bidder must have a serious crush on this can.
