CNN reports that the African nation of Zimbabwe is experiencing one of the worst economic crises in 40 years. Due to the shortage of hard currency, the local bottler in Zimbabwe is unable to import Coca-Cola concentrate to produce the drink and meet local demand. This is the first Coke drought across the country in four decades. One sports club in Harare sold imported canned Coke from Malaysia for 100,000 Zimbabwe dollars (approximately US$1.00), double the price of the locally bottled version.
